Warriors amidst the Stars
I've heard it said, "Never trust a man with a sword if he doesn't know how to dance."
When Saul was made king "God changed his heart" and gave him "valiant men whose hearts God had touched" (I Samuel 10:9,26). Later, long after David had been anointed to be king, he was hiding from Saul in Ziklag where the Gadites came to his aid, "They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear. Their faces were the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains.... the least of them a match for a hundred, and the greatest a thousand" (I Chronicles 12:8,14). Then in Song of Songs 3 there was Solomon and his sixty mighty men on their way through the desert to visit the bride of the King:
6"What is this coming up from the wilderness

Then in Song of Songs 3 there was Solomon and his sixty mighty men on their way through the desert to visit the bride of the King:
6"What is this coming up from the wilderness
Like columns of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
With all scented powders of the merchant?
7"Behold, it is the traveling couch of Solomon;
Sixty mighty men around it,
Of the mighty men of Israel.
8"All of them are wielders of the sword,
Expert in war;
Each man has his sword at his side,
Guarding against the terrors of the night.
9"King Solomon has made for himself a sedan chair
From the timber of Lebanon.
10"He made its posts of silver,
Its back of gold
And its seat of purple fabric,
With its interior lovingly fitted out
By the daughters of Jerusalem.
11"Go forth, O daughters of Zion,
And gaze on King Solomon with the crown
With which his mother has crowned him
On the day of his wedding,
And on the day of his gladness of heart."
So who are your sixty? Where are they? Are they with you as you are with the King? It's time for the warrior scouts who are trained to hear and obey their King - the One who loves his bride scattered throughout battlefield earth.
Take a lesson from Return of the King: One King, a fake king of Gondor, commits suicide. Another King, once seduced and controlled by the enemy, the frustrated king of Rohan, dies in battle attempting to redeem his own lofty name. Then there is a third King, a ranger, nobody knows him... There is only a prophecy about the bearer of the green broach.
You don't see it in the movie, but in Tolkien's work, before Aragorn goes out to battle he enters the city a secret way and goes to the houses of healing and heals his friends!
Which King would you rather be!?
Balaam told the terrified Moabites that, "A star will come out of Jacob" to crush Moab. Yet, at that time the Israelite army was seduced by Moab and judged by God (Numbers 22-25). Later in Israel's history, the prophet Elisha asked for a musician to play so he could prophecy to three kings about Moab (II Kings 3). Elisha told those kings and their armies to dig in, expect boat loads of water from out of nowhere, which would become both a source of life giving water for their armies and a blood red distraction / mirage that would trick the encroaching Moabites.
David was surrounded by warrior stars. Balaam spoke an oracle about a mighty star. The Moabites were tricked by a star. Abraham was promised the stars. Amos told Israel that God was sick of their tinsel star. Esther was the warrior star of the east. Philippians speaks of shining stars and Jude speaks of wandering stars. John in his Revelation sees a bitter star fall from the sky to muck up the earth.
When Jesus was born, a supernatural eastern star led wise warrior king makers to David's village and Jesus, "the Root and Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star" (Revelation 22:16). "Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?" (Song of Solomon 6:10).
