Up at 5 am for a 5 hour hike

It's 2:30 am Calgary time. I just sat down from a marathon hike. Wanting to pray in the new day, I left my hostel at 5 am. It seemed like half of Budapest was already awake and on the road. In the dark, I walked down Szent Istavan krt and crossed the Margit hid (Margaret Bridge).

I stolled along the Danube River, took some pics of parliment and then hiked up the buda hills Kings steps to see the Royal Palace, Buda Castle, the statue of St. Gellert and the Liberation monument. I crossed back over the Erszebet hid and booked in at "The Red Bus 2" hostel after a great esspresso at a kavehaz.

The day started out misty and drizzly. Mist and rain suit this city. Just as dawn approached I got to the Palace Castle and looked out over across the Danube into Pest and wept and prayed over the city in ways that only the Holy Spirit can be lead. This city is a sleeping giant. Before World Wars and Communism, it must have been the jewel of Eastern Europe.

Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
Ephesians 5:14

Well I'm off to the thermal baths the city is famous for.
